It’s a beautiful day here in White Bear Lake

Conveniently, today is the guessing deadline for the Rally WBA Ice-Out Contest.  

It’s the largest ice-out contest in the country with $4,000 in prizes contributed by area businesses.  

This area has been keeping record of ice-out since at least 1928 and has wonderful history associated with it.  

I started this contest 5 years ago during covid as a way to help out the community and it has exploded in popularity.  

It’s just a silly contest.  

We include both White Bear Lake and Bald Eagle Lake.

Those that guess the date correctly share the prize pool.  

It’s free to participate and we have a big party afterwards to celebrate.
